HaloSource To Launch First Consumer Product Astrea Bottle In US

LONDON (Alliance News) - HaloSource Inc said Wednesday it expects to launch its first consumer product under the Astrea brand in the US via a crowdfunding campaign in March.

The AIM-listed clean water technology company said that the Astrea bottle is designed to be the world's most effective daily-use filtering water bottle, tested to remove lead to the highest National Sanitation Foundation standard - NSF 53.

HaloSource highlighted problems with lead in drinking water in the US, stating that it felt compelled to address the issue.

The company said of its product that it will be made from food-grade stainless steel, double-walled, and vacuum-insulated.

"Safe drinking water has long been a developing world problem, but as Americans, we are now experiencing our own increasing concerns over water quality. For the last 20 years the company has been focused on solving clean water problems in the developing world, and now aging infrastructure has left our water systems at home exposed to lead, with few products offering real, portable solutions," HaloSource Chief Executive James Thompson said.

HaloSource shares were down 0.4% at 1.27 pence per share on Wednesday.
