Joe Calzaghe on the ropes

Unbeaten boxer Joe Calzaghe is facing the fight of his life to stay in BBC's Strictly Come Dancing according to punters.

The stakes are raised as all 14 remaining celebrities go head to head for the first time this Saturday night.

Betfred spokesman Mark Pearson, "Joe Calzaghe is well and truly on the ropes and the word from his training camp is that he's Paso Doble is not knock-out. The punters are backing the Welshman to be defeated for the first time is his career."

The favourite at the moment to be eliminated on Saturday night is Jo Wood who will also have to tackle the Paso Doble.

Mark Pearson added, "It's very close but if the cash keeps coming for Calzaghe we'll have a clear favourite by time the fight begins on Saturday night. He had fantastic foot work in the ring but he just has not been able to transfer it to the dancefloor."

Meanwhile Betfred have cut the odds of Hollyoaks actor Ricky Whittle and he's now 5/4 to win Series seven.

"Ricky is clearly the best dancer and sets the standard. However it wouldn't surprise me if Phil Tufnell at 10/1 hit the crowd for six and was crowned champ. There will be plenty of twists and turns and not just on the dancefloor!"
