Pendragon spend £500 on every new starter on FSA training.....multiply that with amount of new starters across group each month.....by good leadership and motivation sales execs will stay, they do with the other big players and they do with the company i am with....why? we pay well, we encourage our staff, we treat fairly, we motivate them so they enjoy coming to work, this also comes across to our customers, hence we enjoy a good customer satisfaction report...to say car sales is a entry into better sales job i find rather insulting. ...

As an outsider looking into the industry with what you'd class a layman's view, high staff turnover is pretty much what I'd expect. Sales jobs always have high turnover. Car sales is an entry into a better sales job for most people, so it's higher than most. What do you think turnover is like in most office jobs? Based on bums on seats I've seen 114 % turnover in a financial year in one firm I've been in to. There are loads of reasons to leave a company, and simply posting you feel it's down management is not constructive or informative, just negative.

they employ him and empower him to run the sales department....my question is this, how typical is this of mangers within the group...if he cant do a simple task like ensuring there is a road worth vehicle for the salesman to go home in how is he capable of running a sales team...

Fair point Rock, she could have picked him up, but as she had taken a days holiday from work she would not have been able to drop him off again the next day, so I guess they decided to to risk the banger, especially as he had been promised a brand new Megane would be ready for him the next day.

it really doesnt matter if you do or dont, i have never stated how he arrived at the garage in the morning, nor is it relevant, the fact is i have checked out the story and it is factual..why the salesman was daft enough to accept a C registered car i cant explain......
