Key Features of Discretionary CFD Trading
Overview
Many investors like the idea of being able to profit from short term market fluctuations but may not have the time, inclination or tools to be constantly watching their screen to get in and out of the market. That's why we're introducing Discretionary CFD Trading.
Interactive Investor Discretionary CFD Trading is a fully managed service, designed to complement a traditional long only investment portfolio and should be considered a medium term investment. At the heart of the service is an active trading strategy using CFDs that is based on both long and short positions with the aim of generating profits in short timeframes, usually intraday.
Our trading strategy is to concentrate on the UK100 and top US stocks, looking to place 6-8 trades a day. The following chart shows the number of trades that realised a profit or loss in a quarter.
Number of trades
Our highly experienced market traders use CFDs to enable them to leverage small price movements with a view to generating returns. Our traders are constantly monitoring the markets so they can spot and take advantage of opportunities, giving them the ability to react instantly to capitalise on upward and downward price movements. Changes you may not have the time to spot.
We use our extensive experience and research capabilities to determine opportunities with the potential to provide you with a quick return on your investment. We constantly monitor our positions and take action quickly. We will look to take profit once we have achieved a 1% return and also look to close any losing trades should they go more than 5% offside.
Our aim is to deliver a monthly return 2-3% based on closed positions, this has been exceeded in the last 12 months to 30th September 2009.
% return per quarter
12 months performance to 30th September 2009 - 36.4% return*
If you had invested £50,000 on the 1/4/2008, the value of your investment would be £82,916 as at the 30th September 2009*
*Past performance is not an indication of future performance, the value of investments and the income from them can go down as well as up. You may not get back your original investment.

Portfolio valuations are provided on a regular basis, accompanied by a detailed report summarising past investment performance, general market developments and the outlook for the period ahead, keeping you informed of our performance every step of the way.
