Most funds will have a clear focus on delivering either income or capital growth for the investor. Decide which focus suits your current investment goals best and you can then select funds according to this criteria.

UK Or international funds

You can select and invest in funds according to their geographical and economic location. You can choose to invest in regions from the UK to the Far East, to global emerging markets.

Even within a region such as the UK, you can choose to invest in large-cap funds (which focus on investing in large companies) or in specialist smaller companies funds, or anything in between.

A Choice of sectors

You can invest within different sectors such as commodities, or in industry-based sectors such as technology or the pharmaceutical industry.
