Exercise of Options by Optionholder

The Company makes the following announcements in respect of an exercise of options today by an employee ("Employee") over 1,000 Ordinary shares of 4p each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") granted under the Albemarle & Bond Holdings plc Company Share Option Plan, at an exercise price of 236.5p per share:

1.         a transfer of 1,000 Ordinary Shares has been approved from Albemarle & Bond Trustee Limited (the "Trustee") as Trustee of the Albemarle & Bond Pawnbrokers Limited Employee Benefit Trust to the Employee;

2.         as a result of the transfer announced above, the Trustee now holds 597,462 Ordinary Shares in the capital of the Company, equivalent to 1.076% of the Company's issued share capital; and

3.         B J Stevenson and L K Moran are directors of the Trustee.

In accordance with Financial Services Authority Disclosure and Transparency Rules, the Company advises that its issued share capital at the date of this announcement comprises 55,519,774 Ordinary shares of 4p each. The voting rights of all of these shares are identical, with each share carrying the right to one vote. The Company does not hold any Ordinary shares in treasury.

The above figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
