Aminex is a London Full List oil and gas exploration, development and production company with oil and gas production in two US states, a 40 million cubic feet/day gas discovery in Tanzania currently being appraised and three exploration licences in Tanzania. In the relatively unexplored Tanzanian Ruvuma Basin Aminex is in an active drilling joint venture with Tullow Oil where the first exploration well was spudded on 9 January 2010. Aminex also participates in an active drilling programme onshore Gulf of Suez, Egypt and has a long-standing exploration relationship with the government of North Korea which is likely to become active when regional politics permit.Visit the Aminex PLC website

Bounty Oil & Gas shooting seismic at Tanzanian offshore block
Monday, May 21, 2012 by Bevis Yeo Bounty Oil & Gas (ASX: BUY) and its Nyuni Area partners are planning to shoot 850 kilometres of 2D seismic offshore Tanzania this year to improve their understanding of the licencefs geology. Besides the 350 kilometres of seismic that is planned to start in the transition zone in the coming weeks, the joint venture will also shoot 500 kilometres in the deep water in the second half of 2012. The decision to shoot the seismic in the deep water area comes after Ophir Energy, the operator of the adjoining East Pande block, announced that it was acquiring 3D seismic across its block cover a number of leads including a large stratigraphic feature with multi]trillion cubic feet of gas potential that appears to extend into Nyuni Block. The deep water and transition zone seismic will fulfil the seismic work commitment required under the initial work period of the Nyuni Area production sharing agreement and will be used to locate further wells. The joint venture has also commissioned a new geological and seismic study to identify further prospects and update resource estimates for the Nyuni Area. Bounty holds a 5% interest in the Nyuni Area while operator Ndovu Resources (Aminex) has 70%. The remaining 25% is held by RAK Gas. |

Marben100 a very well respected poster and oil and gas investor has this weekend completed his report on Aminex's AGM and provided a full understanding of their new strategy which runs to nine pages. It is exceptionally thorough and detailed and well worth the read whether already an Aminex shareholder or simply interested in the sector.
It is available on ShareSoc's member network here... http://sharesoc.ning.com/xn/detail/6389471:Comment:17208 For anyone that doesn't know about ShareSoc it is a not-for-profit organisation that was formed eighteen months ago to support individual shareholders. You'll need to be a member to access Marbens report (and a multitude of others), but you can join for free as an associate member here: http://www.sharesoc.org/free_membership.html Once you've joined ShareSoc, you'll receive an invitation to access the members' network and once registered for that, you'll be able to access the reports and lots of other goodies on there. It is a great resource for AGM reports and any members attending AGMs up and down the country or even overseas that other members have been unable to attend can post their reports so they can be viewed and accessed by other shareholders. There are over sixty there for viewing and they are added to almost every day. You will also receive an excellent free monthly newesletter direct to your email account. Contributors and readers that support our organisation are vital. In just eighteen months ShareSoc has gained immense credibility as an organisation and it has received absolutely no government assistance or charity funding just a few full member subscriptions and donations following very successful campaigns on behalf of members There have been campaigns and challenges against Premier Oil and Faroe Petroleum literally in the last week or so with a case against Lamprell and its Board of directors being put together as we speak. So oil and gas investors should really get behind ShareSoc as an organisation. Please join at your earliest opportunity and do share the benefit of the excellent work undertaken by Marben. Then consider posting your own reports of AGMs. |

Well spotted Jahirie was this on Hemscott and in Euros ? What was the volume I wonder ? Wonder why it didn't reflect in a rise over here. If not a mistake, makes a mockery of a certain broker's Strong Sell recommendation !

Thanks are due to you Jahirie. I had thought GS had given up reporting on AEX years ago but true or not, it's poor that digitallook.com state there's just one broker with a 'Strong Sell' stance when I believe Davy is the company's choice. All we can do is await the testing outcome and I believe it was mentioned somewhere that the equipment is on it's way over from South Africa and results would be some weeks down the line. Let's all hope the discovery is proved commercial.

"Cuts Aminex (AEX.LN) to sell from neutral, saying the near-term valuation is challenging, although long-term potential exists" Davy latest note says RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT Aminex (AEX ID) Price: 5c Rating: Outperform Issues IMS for first four months of the year Job Langbroek FACTS: Aminex has published (May 16th) an IMS covering the first four months of 2012. ANALYSIS: The statement reiterates the strategy formulated by the new management team. This involves a focus on Africa by selling non-African assets and investing in African companies and assets, further de-risking exploration through seismic investment and looking for appropriate investment partnership. The first months of this year have seen progress in all areas. In the US, the Somerset field in Texas has been sold and a decision has been taken to exit form the North Korean operations this is new information contained in the IMS). Seismic programmes are being prepared in Tanzania and investment was achieved through a share placement with the Reignwood Group and Empire Asia Group, both representing inward Chinese investment into Africa. Tanzania looks to be the main focus for the group in the next year or so. A seismic programme has been commissioned for the recent onshore Ntorya well discovery area and plans are also developed to shoot both transition zone and deepwater seismic on the Nyuni area PSA. Engineering design is completed for the Kiliwani North gas discovery but this awaits access to the nearby Songo Songo gas facilities. DAVY VIEW: The strategic review has made good progress so far and should deliver a focussed African exploration and development company, centred for now on East Africa. At present, our NAV valuation of the group is 14p per share. |

So LT, you are clearly saying 'Buy' Aminex but the only Broker (I assume Davy) are stating strong Sell. What has your research told you about why you disagree with them ? No rancour here necessary LT - we are after all on the same side. Just your view as opposed to theirs. This is what these discussion boards are made for of course and to help investors make up their minds whether to Buy or Sell.

The " Public Information Service" post was a good one. I am no expert but I try to improve myself. After a while you get to know who's genuine and worth listening to. Your on that list. Wit and wisdom. Nice comments. Have my off days/ rant days but I do my best to entertain the troops. Siting tight here for the moment before I top up . Going to sit back and wait for the storm to clear. Europe is turning ugly. Chat later as I'm needed to perform an emergency operation on a tractor. Cheers. Baron. Follow your every post and admire your wit and wisdom and, of course, the service you do to mankind by growing what you grow! AEX is sooooooo frustrating as a share but then, as I recall, there were times with DPL when we all could have torn our hair out! Have to admit that I have sold about a third of OPHIR to get into here and Enegi, just hoping that my tactics and patience will win the day! LT |

Then why Nye don't you do some work yourself instead of relying on others? If you want the facts ask the Head Honcho yourself and don't piggy-back on others. No head-burying here - I am a grown man that has researched AEX well just as I did with DPL where, taking account of OPHIR's takeover, I have made over a quarter of a million ....... PROFIT!!! What every bone in my body is telling me is that AEX bears striking similarities to DPL EXCEPTING ONE THING - AEX's cash postion NOW is far, far better than DPL's when it was taken over by OPHIR ...... FACT!!!!! LT |

The question about the current cash position was asked at the AGM three days ago to SD. He replied that the company has sufficient cash for the 2012 plans outlined in the new presentation.
Further ahead, he said, they have plans to diversify by acquiring participations in projects and/or buying small companies operating in Africa. More funds will be needed for those investments and he said the money will be sought from placements to large investors or from strategic partners, (e.g. the Chinese investor who bought shares about 6 months ago). (my comment - given the history of share prices at past placing times for Aminex and AIM oilcos, small investors will probably get the opportunity to buy shares in the market at or around any future placing price). SD was then asked directly how much cash is there now. Brian Hall intervened at that point and said "we never disclose cash positions except in the interim and final accounts". freelance New £5 frequent trader rate - trade UK shares, investment trusts and ETFs |

Rather than just pick, pick at this share why don't you do yourself and everyone a favour and pick the 'phone up yourself eh? Some here, including myself, have actually spoken with the "Great Man" - he does know how to use the 'phone himself and is very approachable. That way we might be spared your constant whining. Isn't now the time to approach SD with these very questions? Are we entitled to know what is the current cash held and also the monthly revenue income for our company at this moment in time? Has someone on this board got a dialogue with SD allowing him to ask those two key questions ? Do hope so.

A perspective on your predictions: -
"Looking at my chart showing very strong buy signal right now, heading up for next fib point of 28 and possibly even 30+ by Friday. Not a ramp just telling it as I see it." AEX management are telling us we are in a sweet spot.
The market is telling us that risk is being taken off the table such that the dollar is ticking up and up. Trade volume in AEX remains very low, incredibly only 2.5M shares traded today so few buys and few sells. At these levels the balance of probability for the SP is up rather than down as there is small gain (and huge risk) for going short and huge potential for going long. In the Country of the Blind the One-Eyed Man is King and with one eye perspective difficult so I say if you are in keep watching and waiting and if you're not in IMHO the downside risk for parking some capital here is much smaller than for the majority of large listed companies. So I'm staying in and trying not to be greedy, which is getting increasingly difficult! |

I feel your pain / frustration. 1 years holding for me, but I honestly believe that the SP does not represent where AEX really are. If and its a big if, Ntorya is commercial and half decent numbers, I honestly think we will see 10p. Because its potentially a huge gas accumulation and they will have access to it onshore.
You have come this far, you may as well give SD some time to turn the ship around. He believes in AEX, and he is better placed than us. New £5 frequent trader rate - trade UK shares, investment trusts and ETFs |

I accept markets are down though often the microcaps are left relatvely unaffected. sry if I sound jaded but had the bought in 14p+ had the excitement of likonde-1 and such and such the excitement of cash raising earlier this year and the excitment of seeing the the SP fall heavily since start of year so excitement of lastest success is almost unbearable.
