Can't really see it going above 16p but will be very happy if it does, this is still a long term project, 3 years+ before production can start and then we have to wait until the railway is completed to start shipping so could be 4/5 years before any profits start rolling in, so meanwhile expect the sp to be very volitile.

Still very undervalued, Dutwa is world class nickel project with very favourable capex compared to other laterite projects in development.
African Eagle have a stand at the Indaba Mining conference next week, this one draws all the big-hitters in the industry, so a good opportunity gain further visibility. |

Good to see some movement (at last) following a raft of buys this morning. I topped recently at 5.4 as I can't see any real downside at these levels. The new management team appears more suited to progress the company than Mark Parker, who did a good job in finding Dutwa and remains a real asset in his prospecting role. Hopefully, start of an overdue positive movement!

Torally in agreement with everything you say twobeers.
Don't know if you have always followed this board, but chancerbill was a perennial and everlasting bear on this stock and maybe with reason once upon a time. However we can now see as you suggest - a positive way forward. I've just topped up and almost boubled, and AFE owes me nothing, having taken good profits a couple of times (& ploughed it into ORM). I will await the fulfillment of great potential now. Also agree with comment about clicking on the bit.ly links as I have seen negative reports about them on other boards. Regards PR |

The last year (chart, previous post) doesn't look nice but hindsight investing is always easy. Would give it more credence if the poster had suggested reducing at the appropriate time.
A continued trend is not a certainty, looking at the 3 year chart for example gives a different perspective. The last 4 news items are positive & significant IMO. Perhaps that is what the many bit.ly links suggest (but I'm not clicking on them as there is no way to tell where they lead to or via what). |

East Africa: U.S. $4.7 Billion Railway Line Linking Dar, Rwanda, Burundi to Begin 2014 8 January 2012 Email|Print|Comment Share: Construction of the $4.7 billion railway line linking Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania will begin in 2014, after the three governments finalise fund-raising activities. Tanzania and Uganda have also reached consensus that the proposed joint commercial rail track running from Tanga-Arusha-Musoma to Kampala, will not cut through the Serengeti National Park, thus ending a long-standing row between the two countries. "Rest assured that the railway line will be constructed 100km south of the Serengeti National Park border and will thus not interfere with the ecosystem," said Omari Nundu, Minister for Transport. The Tanzania-Rwanda-Burundi line will boost economic and social development through regional co-operation. Mr Nundu, said the design, engineering studies and development of financial, legal, institutional and regulatory frameworks have been completed. Feasibility studies were completed in June 2009. "Eventually, we hope to develop a railway system that connects the agricultural, mining and industrial hubs of the three countries to the port of Dar-es- salaam," he said. According to Mr Nundu, the railway line will also reduce non-tariff barriers to trade particularly transport costs and delays caused by road transport. He said the Tanga and Musoma ports will be dedicated to cargo traffic destined for Uganda and South Sudan. Frankfurt Zoological Society applauded the two countries for demonstrating they were concerned about the Serengeti ecosystem."We are happy the cross border railway line will pass through the densely populated areas to the south of the Serengeti where the commercial potential is greater, instead of the ecological fragile areas in the north," said Dr Markus Borner, the Africa director of the Frankfurt Zoological Society. Dr Borner said there is now a solid development model that gives maximum support to the economic growth of the region without endangering the migration of nearly two million animals in the world-renowned national Park. A fortnight ago, Tanzania and Uganda signed an agreement with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation for the Tanga-Arusha-Musoma railway project. Under the multi-million-dollar project, the CCEC has been commissioned to conduct a feasibility study and implementation of the project. Managing director of CCEC, Wang Xiangdong, said feasibility studies will be completed by April 2012. The project worth $3 billion will include the construction of some 880km railway line, the Mwambani port in Tanga, Musoma dock and another at Port Bell in Uganda. The project is expected to be completed by 2015. Freight will be conveyed from Musoma dock by ferry to Port Bell pier in Uganda -- about 350km. A rail connection will also run via Tororo to Gulu - nearly 600km. Another line roughly 250km, will also be constructed to Juba, and a further 550km to the WÃ¥o railhead in South Sudan. ########################################################### http://allafrica.com/stories/201201100072.html If this really kicks off on time it could be exceptionally good for AFE as the Rail line would be a heavy traffic one and would likely pass just next to both Dutwa and Zanzui linking them up all the way to the coast and Dar es Salaam. Might even be ready around the same time as AFE could get the mine operational.. Lots of ifs and buts, but this could make all the difference in the profitability of Dutwa! Interesting times ahead! lots of patience required too me thinks... GTA. |

There's a 500,000 sell showing as well but this may have been a buy too as it's delayed publication. The upward price movement suggests this is the case. Cange of fortunes here well overdue.

.....agree why does the sp continue to fall? To-day again positive news but the sp doesn't reflex this, and the amount of buying one would assume an upward sp but no joy l'am still buying on the dips in sp but surely the share's due for a bit of boost in sp.
The IFC becoming involved with AFE to me was a great piece of news their involvement must auger well for the future development of the Dutwa project. con |
