	No way would this unfortunate affair have dented the shareprice; the financial penalty is far too small and the setback is purely due to the general market weakness and, IMHO, some easing in the oil price which seemed to upset all constituents of the oil / gas services sector. This was partially reversed today with the oil price recovering by c$2. The next trading update is on Thursday 12th November whilst the company is hosting a presentation on Friday 4th December entitled "vision 2015" which will be webcast. Ahead of these events, I foresee renewed strength in the share price given reasonably stable conditions in the equity market as a whole. 	AMEC should be congratulated for the way it has handled this. As soon as the irregular payments were identified, it reported them to the SFO and instituted measures to improve ethics, compliance and accounting standards. The size of the irregular payments, $9m, and the penalty imposed by the SFO, £5m, are comparatively small. The irregular payments were associated with a PPP contract in South Korea and the division which handled that contract has been sold off.
