Going back over what we have been told about this
on 14 September a Blinkx press release claimed that Burst Media had 17 Bn page views a month In a November 2 press release SC claimed BM had 35 Bn page views per month, the source of the data was given as Comscore Media Metrix September 2011 although I do not see anything about 35Bn page views in that report. However during the conference call in November SC said that he expected that Burst would get 8Bn impressions a month, or 48Bn over H2 of which he expected to convert / monetise 2-3Bn Finally we have the regular quantcast figures which currently show Burst Media running at only about 3.1 Bn impressions a month, although this does not seem to include mobile internet data It is difficult to make sense of it all but presumably these statements refer to different technical definitions of page views, impressions etc. Does anyone understand all this stuff and should we still hope that Burst Media will perform as well in H2 as SC expected they would? |
