	Many thanks CM for the links you provided, but I had already seen these. As I said before it is a tantalising prospect, potentially huge, but not yet pproven. I think I will wait awhile before dipping my toe in as I am prepared to miss the absolute trough nadir to see if I can catch the start of the rise at a point where I will not regret my inactivity too much, i.e. near the start of the straight section of the hockey stick. 	A good place to start for better explanations would be the BPC website: http://www.bpcltdgroup.com/index.cfm/Presentations-107.html There is a lot of detail in those that explain the region and the prospects. BPC's blocks in the south of the region are very close to producing wells in Cuba. Probably best to start with the Investor presentation - has a bit more info. 	Useful post for me as I am,as you are, still dithering about this. It might help me to be a a bit more positive if you could explain your statement that there is oil in the area - specifically, do you mean the area covered by BPC licences or just the area of the GoM generally. If the former is it known how much? This is a tantalising prospect just wish that I had a few more hard facts. Thanks in anticipation. 	Yeah, have to admit the perfect world scenario sounds more appealing However, the nightmare scenario may be unlikely as from what I have read the Bahamas are keen to get exploration underway, and the government have been involved with Statoil buying the South Riding Point crude oil terminal on Grand Bahama - a small $260M purchase (thanks to shortrob for pointing that out). So if Statoil are in favour, and BPC hold a few licenses and have done a lot of ground work already, a JV between them surely can't be a bad thing for the powers that be in the region. A gamble maybe, but I'd rather see it as a calculated risk. There is oil in the area, the board are proven and at the top of their field. Yes they could drill dry wells but the price would move a lot before that so at 3.8p it's very cheap (if interest continues). Desire Petroleum are waiting on their rig to finally arrive after how many years? They are miles from any where (Argentina who?!) and are waiting to see if they find commercial volumes - they are at 75p (having retraced somewhat). BPC are on the doorstep of the US and the mature G.O.M producing region, infrastructure is very close and it is politically stable. If they can find half of what they claim to be possible this would be a great find. Anyway, I'm getting carried away again and the wine is kicking in!
