Perfect Water Purification Manufacturing Co. Ltd will deploy HaloPure® technology in drinking water purification devices
HaloSource, Inc. ("HaloSource" or the "Company") (HAL.LN, HALO.LN), the clean water technology company, today announces a partnership with its first Chinese partner, Perfect Water Purification Manufacturing Co. Ltd., a leading global supplier of consumer goods with US$1.6 billion in sales in 2010.
The partnership marks HaloSource's entry into the direct selling channel for drinking water purification devices in China. Under the terms of the partnership agreement, HaloSource's HaloPure® cartridges will be inserted into Perfect's multi-stage water purifier to deliver 99.9% reduction of virus and bacteria.
HaloSource has granted Perfect the exclusive right to sell devices powered by HaloPure® technology through its direct sales channels in the pressurized water purification segment in China. To maintain this exclusive right, Perfect is required to purchase a minimum of 500,000 units annually, representing approximately US$4.5 million of revenue for HaloSource.
The overall market for drinking water devices in China is estimated to be worth more than US$2.5 billion annually and growing at more than 20% CAGR, according to research group Frost & Sullivan.

We are proud of the HaloPure® media's distinction as the first and only drinking water purification technology to be approved under a new tough standard developed by China's Ministry of Health (MOH) in April 2011, engaging with Perfect shortly thereafter to begin development of this breakthrough line of products."
In 2010, Perfect was ranked as one of the Top 10 Global Direct Sales companies in the world by Power Networking monthly magazine, with US $1.6 billion in sales. HaloSource reports delay
15/07/2011 Ben Jaglom http://www.growthcompany.co.uk/news/1641163/halosource-reports-delay.thtml Clean water business HaloSource (HAL) has issued a profit warning in which it reports that due to factors including 'partner rollout delays' and 'poor weather' first half sales were below market expectations. The AIM-quoted concern, which specialises in water purification technology and which has an emerging markets focus declared that while it 'continues to execute against its stated strategy' in its water purification division there were 'launch delays' that were caused by problems to do with 'tooling adjustments'. However HaloSource declared that it has 'now solved these challenges' adding that India's largest appliance company - named Bajaj has now launched its HaloPure Waterbird, reporting shipments of 3,500 in June. In its water clarification business, which is used in swimming pools Halo remarks that there has been 'unusually poor weather in the US' which has led to an 'adverse effect on the early buying season in the North American pool industry.' Development in its environmental water operation was described as 'challenging' with Halo observing that it is 'yet to gain significant traction in its expansion'. In an interview with Growth Company Investor chief executive John Kaestle remarked that while Halo has had a 'challenging first half' the 'fundamentals of the business remain strong.' Regarding its overseas sales Kaestle enthused that he was 'very bullish on the Chinese market' noting that it is a country which 'in the past has had numerous water quality issues' and is hence likely to benefit from Halo's technology. Looking forward he declared the focus for the coming year would be to 'ramp the revenues' with a focus on India. Analysts at house broker Liberum have slashed their sales forecasts from $46.8 million to $20.6 million for the year to December 2011. Losses before tax of $9.3 million and $4 million are pencilled in for 2011 and 2012. HaloSource only joined AIM last November, raising £31.5 million at 135p a share. The shares have fallen 41 per cent today, and are currently trading at 87.5p. Such a significant downgrade so shortly after the company has joined AIM is likely to concern investors. However its technology is potentially of enormous value to its customers in the developing world and as a result as a long-term play we believe the shares continue to hold value.
