(ITKY) iShares MSCI Turkey GBX

In at 21.9 but out at 25 a few weeks later. I almost got back in at 212 weeks back and held off ( rest of my port folio not doing so well so wanted some cash resserve), and now at 17.5. Not sure if the down trend will continue as the ISE at 51000 is a lot higher than the ITKY suggests ( lira has been loosing value). Still its cheaper now than if I had not sold. Some confusing news re interesst rate cuts in turkey despite deficit and infaltion.

I've been watching this since mid last year. Down 15% since i started watching. Got into Brasil instead which hasnt been good either. Korea also on watch list went up 11% since sept- I should have gone there. My gift of hindsight is wonderful!! I'm in china (good) and India( not so good) and holding XMEM which has done ok. You guys have any ideas?

I have re entered a few days ago at 21.9. Down from 30 quid, high,the ITKY index fund has fallen much more than the turkish stockmarket, but is afetr all a basket of the largest companies who probably have taken bigger hits with oil and inflation worries than the whole turkish stock market.So it does not followe the Turkey stock market that closely ( as I have discovered with the "XMRC" Vietnam index fund) The ITKY is back to where it was 12m ago. I was invested in Charlemage turkey fund and sold out at £17.2 after a massive rise and today that fund is back down at £14.4. My aim is to stay invested for the long term , try and take account iof the occasional excessive rises, and this time count myself lucky to have gotten back in some 17% lower. I choose the ITKY because no stamp duty, only 10 quid online dealing with hargreaves Lansdown and very narrow spreads and easily tradable, and reflects real time Turkey stock market rather than Unit trust that are 1-2 days delayed or investment trusts that have premium and discounts. 5 -10 yrs from now Turkey can only be higher as its young growing and not saddeld with bank debt, but is exposed to oil needs.
