Lochard Energy Group Plc ("Lochard" or the "Company") (AIM: LHD, ASX: LHD) notes the announcement made on 19 April 2012 by Ithaca Energy Inc relating to the Athena project. Lochard has a net 10% interest in this field through its 100% ownership of Zeus Petroleum Limited.

Athena Project Update

Ithaca Energy Inc. (TSX:IAE)(AIM:IAE) confirms the arrival of the BW Athena floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel on location at the Athena field. The FPSO has been connected to the "STP" mooring buoy. Hook-up and infield commissioning activities are ongoing and a further announcement will be made upon delivery of first oil from the field."

Appointment of Directors, Restoration of Trading and

Proposed Adjournment of Second Requisitioned General Meeting

Appointment of Non-Executive Directors

The Company is pleased to announce the appointments of James Brooke, Peter Youd, Peter Kingston as Non-Executive Directors and Clive Carver as Non-Executive Chairman with immediate effect.



Mr. Brooke is a qualified chartered accountant and has over 16 years' investment experience in private equity and quoted fund management. He is currently a fund manager at Henderson Global Investors ("Henderson"), a UK based independent fund manager.



Mr. Youd is a Chartered Accountant and has extensive experience within the resources, oil and gas services, financial services and e-business industries. For the last 35 years Mr. Youd has held a number of senior management positions and directorships for publicly listed and private Companies in Australia and overseas. Mr Youd graduated from the W.A Institute of Technology (now Curtin University of Technology) with a Bachelor of Business. He is an associate of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants.



Mr. Kingston has been directly engaged in the strategic development of oil companies for 27 years. Most recently, he has been Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director of SOCO International plc between 1997 and June 2011, being Chairman of the Audit and Remuneration Committees. He has also been Executive Chairman of Tower Resources plc, an AIM listed oil and gas exploration company from 2006 until the end of March 2012. He is a consultant in the field of environmental and social management and holds memberships with the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Institute of Directors.



Mr. Carver has been Non-Executive Chairman of Roxi Petroleum plc, an AIM listed oil and gas exploration and production company operating in Kazakhstan, since 2006. He has worked in the City since 1986 and focused exclusively on the small cap sector since 1994. Mr. Carver is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is a qualified corporate treasurer.



Restoration of trading



Following these appointments, the board is now considered appropriate for the Company's current needs as a company admitted to trading on a UK public market. Accordingly, the temporary suspension in trading in the ordinary shares of 5 pence each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") on AIM is expected to be lifted.



Proposed adjournment of Second Requisitioned General Meeting



Following these appointments, the purpose of the resolutions to be proposed at the second requisitioned general meeting of Lochard's shareholders to be held on 23 April 2012 at 10.00am, announced by the Company on 9 March 2012, will have already been achieved and, as a result, there will be no formal business to be transacted at the general meeting. It is a requirement under English companies law legislation, that the meeting is still held, but the Chairman at that meeting will propose, with Lochard shareholders' consent, that the general meeting is adjourned indefinitely.



Lochard Shareholders intending to attend the Second Requisitioned General Meeting should note that it is proposed that the Second Requisitioned General Meeting be adjourned indefinitely at that meeting. .

Peter Richard Youd, aged 56, has an interest in 40,000 Ordinary Shares, representing 0.01% of the total voting rights. These Ordinary Shares are held by Mr. Youd's wife.
