(XFVT) dbx FTSE Vietnam

I've been buying various individual Asia country funds recently - Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan.

Today's circa 5% fall makes Vietnam an interesting investment at the moment IMO so I'm going to buy up.

Certainly Vietnam is not for the faint hearted but has the potential for "excitement" - if that's the right word. :-)

Let's hope all the bad news out there has now been fully priced into the Vietnamese stock market

Still here with average around 28.5. Have done well with eastern Europe and turkey funds looking to top slice some gains, what's up with vietnam, is it fear re china growth slowdown? Anyone got some pointers to commentary re Vietnamese economy etc. Thanks

My 25.44 purchase rapidly rose to 32, partly the VIN rising but also dollar powering ahead. I sold my holding at 30.6p. was slightly annoyed to see a rally back to 33 but been amazed at the fall to under 26 in 2 weeks. The NAV of 52.35 dollars at 1.76 to pound gives NAV of 29.1, so the dbx at 25.6p is some 13% discount. Recently we had 5% premium. I suppose the 4% fall today might not be reflected in NAV yet but even so we are at 9% discount. I know China Russia are having abad time and emerging markets taking a hammering, but how low do you think the VIN will go before we see a bottom. I am not sure the time is yet here for longer term buy adn hold, as volatility like this can if timed give decent returns. Any thoughts
