Young & Co's Brewery, P.L.C. will announce its interim results for the half year ended 26 September 2009 on Thursday 19 November 2009.

James Guillaume Allen Young notified the Company of the following today, 24 September 2009:

Pursuant to 5.1.2R of the Disclosure and Transparency Rules and following a disposal of voting rights on 23 September 2009, I, James Guillaume Allen Young, hereby notify you that immediately after the time when the obligation to make this notification arose:

A. I held (as shareholder and as the direct or indirect holder of qualifying financial instruments and financial instruments with similar economic effects) 4,013,054 voting rights in the Company, being 13.81% of the voting rights, whereas my last notification informed you that I held 4,215,436 voting rights, being 14.5% of the voting rights;

B. I held (as direct or indirect shareholder (disregarding for these purposes holdings of financial instruments)) 4,013,054 voting rights in the Company, being 13.81% of the voting rights, whereas my last notification informed you that I held 4,215,436 voting rights, being 14.5% of the voting rights;

C. I held (as a result of direct and indirect holdings of qualifying financial instruments) 0 voting rights in the Company, being 0% of the voting rights, which is the same number and percentage of voting rights as is referred to in my last notification; and

D. I was deemed to have held (as a result of direct and indirect holdings of financial instruments having similar economic effects to (but not including) qualifying financial instruments in C. above, if any) 0 voting rights in the Company, being 0% of the voting rights.

Of those, they are all held by me directly as a result of 796,322 A Shares being registered in my name and 3,216,732 A Shares being registered in the joint names of Thomas fflorance Barrow Young, me and Torquil Charles fflorance Barrow Sligo-Young.

Words or expressions used in the Disclosure and Transparency Rules have the same meaning when used in this notification, and references to "A Shares" are to A shares of 12.5p each in the Company.

Today, Friday 24 July 2009, the Company received the following notification from Guinness Peat Group plc:

" Disclosure of Interest in Shares pursuant to DTR Rule 5

Guinness Peat Group plc and its subsidiary companies ("the Group") hereby notify Young & Co.'s Brewery, P.L.C. ("Young") that, following a recent market purchase, the Group's interest in the 'A' Ordinary shares of Young ("Shares") now amounts to 4,115,424 Shares, representing 14.16% of the issued 'A' Ordinary share capital and total voting rights of Young.

So far as the Group is aware, no person interested in the Shares is party to any agreement or arrangement relating to the exercise of any rights conferred by holding the shares the subject of this notification."

Young & Co.'s Brewery, P.L.C. - Result of AGM

At the 120th annual general meeting held today, all the resolutions put to shareholders were duly passed. These resolutions are contained in the Notice of the 120th Annual General Meeting dated 27 May 2009, a copy of which is available on the company's website (www.youngs.co.uk) or on request from the company at its registered office: Riverside House, 26 Osiers Road, Wandsworth, London SW18 1NH (telephone 020 8875 7000).

Pursuant to rule 17 of the AIM rules, specific notification is made of the fact that shareholders passed a resolution relating to the payment, on 16 July 2009, of a final dividend of 6.63p per share. This is payable to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 12 June 2009.

For information, the total number of voting shares in issue is 29,064,000 and valid proxy appointments were received from holders of 17,398,125 voting shares amounting to 59.86% of the issued voting share capital. The following table excludes abstentions / votes withheld and proxy appointments received from holders of 4,336,278 voting shares who appointed someone other than the chairman of the meeting as their proxy.
