HBOS Employee Equity Solutions as Trustees of the Avis Europe PLC Employee Benefit Trust ('EBT') has purchased a total of 500,000 ordinary shares on 20 October 2009 at a price of 30.26p per share.

Some of the Executive Directors of AVIS Europe PLC are included as potential beneficiaries of the EBT and are deemed to be interested in those shares and the dealings thereof.

Following this transaction, the EBT holds 3,787,735 ordinary shares in the Company.
