("Nanoco" or the "Company")

Holdings in Company

On 23 October 2009, Nanoco received notification from Ora Capital Partners Limited ("Ora") that it is interested in 69,739,348 ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares"), representing 37.9 per cent. of the issued share capital of Nanoco.

2,870,260 Ordinary Shares representing 1.6 per cent. of the issued share capital of Nanoco are held indirectly through a financial instrument held by Cantor Fitzgerald on behalf of OCS Trading Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ora.

66,869,088 Ordinary Shares representing 36.3 per cent. of the issued share capital of Nanoco are held directly by Ora (Guernsey) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ora.

This notification was received as clarification of Ora's holdings in the Company following a change in the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules as opposed to notification of an acquisition or disposal of voting rights.
