TIMETABLE FOR PROPOSED ACQUISITION OF THE REMAINING MINORITY SHAREHOLDING IN MUTUAL & FEDERAL

Further to today's announcement by Mutual & Federal Insurance Company Limited ("Mutual & Federal"), Old Mutual plc ("Old Mutual") sets out below some selected salient dates and times in relation to Old Mutual's offer to acquire those Mutual & Federal shares not currently beneficially owned by Old Mutual and/or its subsidiaries.

Old Mutual continues to progress the proposed acquisition and is working with Mutual & Federal management on all aspects of the transaction.

Last day to trade Mutual & Federal shares on the JSE Wednesday, 11

and NSX in order to be recorded in the share register November on the voting record date in order to be eligible to vote at the General Meeting and Scheme meeting (see note 1 below) on
