It would appear to me that many companies are now turning to shareholders with cash calls to reduce bank borrowings.

The banks seem happy about this, because it is reducing their own risks.

To this extent, shareholders - though cash calls - are becoming the "new bankers".

If this is the case, and if CTT is to have a future, the banks would have to think log and hard about wiping out shareholders.

They may ultimately have to rely on shareholders to reduce their own exposure.
