Credit to the BOD in finally getting to grips here. Thankfully Bulgin will support H1 helped by its Arrow contract , we just need Checkit to now take off in the US and the SP will react accordingly. Bought in substantially at 6p so happy to leave a while longer.
I bought this share in October. I buy rising shares ie momentum shares. Im up 35% so far. Im well happy.
It appeared on my stock screen for momentum shares so I bought. I dont bother too much about detailed fundamentals of the companies I buy, theyre in the share price. Have a look at the sp chart in link below.
Even poorly-run companies get lucky sometimes. I was so far down with this at one point that it was not even worth selling. The recovery over the last year or so has been quite incredible so I am glad I stayed with it.
I expect the costs to remain the same or go higher as doubt KD and others will receive
a bonus for bringing the share price back to about half of what it was a few years ago
Heads down snouts in the trough!
Management have made too many mistakes . Are they capable of a making a dramatic improvement ? Anything is possible , but is it likely?-- Daley and Wilson do not impress me. A dreadful story over the last few years.
Perhaps their " thermometer" will yet prove to be a winner. Having taken profit between 2007 and 2010, I will not invest again.
Elektron Technology (EKT) has maintained that results for the second half of 2014 will be in line with those for the first, despite sales in the third quarter dropping to 11.5 million pounds from 11.8 million pounds in the same period of 2013. The fall was due to weakening demand from European, Asian and Middle Eastern distributors as economic conditions stagnate and stock levels remain high. On the upside, net debt was 2 million pounds lower as at 31st October compared to three months earlier, at 2.7 million pounds. The shares fell by 0.375p to 4.5p.
Current Employee - Staff in Cambridge, East of England, England
I have been working at Elektron Technology full-time (less than an year)
Very strong IT group that fixes all my issues quickly. I am impressed with the hard working and skilled finance department and the efficient methods they use in their daily work. Good people to work with if you do not count the management team.
Company is not well managed. Staff not treated well. Everyone seems to be trying to leave.
Elektron is often summoned to county court for not paying its bills and their is a serous potential court case against the company. I do not like dealing with this kind of stuff and it is not really part of my job.
Advice to Management
Look after your staff. The staff will be the ones who will dig you out of the hole that Elektron is in, so treat them better.

Shorting a rising stock....is much worse when it is done by your resident posters that seemingly are your buddies and convince 'long' holders to give up!
What many pi's fail to grasp is the extent that shorting is taking place. Often we tend to think that the 'shorter' is done with and we expect the stock to now rise, now that 'he' is out of the way? You'd be wrong in many instances, for 'he' the shorter, is often followed by others that 'help' keep the stock down !
Some stocks fall after GOOD NEWS!
Is it being shorted or normal profit taking?
The underlying reason for many pi's taking early profits, is simply they are afraid they'll be left in paper losses AND because of the fear of shorting !
Once pi's know the stock is being shorted...they'll SELL UP IN THEIR DROVES !
We can't both WIN !
The 'shorts' therefore 'win' their bets, whereas the 'longs' lose the best part of their investment, possibly for some time to come......and just when you thought this couldn't go any lower, THEY'LL SHORT THE STOCK AGAIN !
Thanks for all your support. We are now at 4,435 votes!
(that's A LOT of irate investors!)

# The big problem with shorting is that THEY (the shorters) WOULD most likely lose most of their money IF they just 'bet' on the price going down without trying to 'help' it down?
So, there is the 'catch 22' scenario. No one would know of an RNS to be released that will contain BAD NEWS, if they did and then 'shorted' the stock, then they are guilty of 'insider trading'.
The only sure way to short a stock and WIN is to spread dis-information to defame the company with help from other posters that are in concert with them. To ENSURE that they don't lose the biggest part of their 'short', ironically, then, they must deramp with (seemingly) believable posts.
When the pro's do it, they simply get the media or well known 'crooked' tipsters, analysts or brokers to do it for them. (say no more). .They're all involved together!
The campaign against shorting is for the benefit of the 'cheated' investors that cannot control their investments due to the dirty tricks played out by co-ordinated shorting in order to tank the sp to abnormally low levels.
When the campaign is complete, the results will be reviewed by Govt legislators re- further action! The branch of the FSA ie FCA will be asked by Davide Serra to conduct an investigation into short selling practices, with the view to either:- an outright ban on short selling, or to be better and more vigorously regulated !
Hedge fund chief, David Serra wants the FCA to investigate 'shorting' practices http://goo.gl/5ZvXAU
"They are obviously being shorted.....?"----Not obvious at all. Many good companies that experienced gains last year have seen profit taking this year .the institutional imperative is at work ( the tendency for fund managers to copy each other )
