I agree RBS is a proud company and there is no denying their meteoric rise from small Scottish bank to the biggest bank in the world (by funds under management and something like 5th by actual size) BUT what would have been the outcome of not buying ABN Amro, they paid a silly price and now have had to accept extreme amounts of money from the Gov but they are definately receiving more harsh treatment than Lloyds. It annoys me that if Darling wanted diversity in British banking then why would he let Lloyds buy HBOS?
I hope RBS do make it back and the Europeans dont meddle too much.
