I was guided to this Company following a look at a list of Companies who had significantly increased their profit guidance in recent trading statements.
There has certainly been a big rise in profitability during the first half of 2017 which I'm hoping will continue in the second half, but which may not yet to be fully reflected in the current share price. If the profit rise is a one off remains to be seen. Any way I've dipped my toe into the water.
It seems quite unusual to me to see 2 recent RNS trading updates (October 2017/January 2018) which referred to the same thing advising that profits would be higher than expected when 2017 results are reported in March.
Given the business they are in, I guess finding out how they make their money will be difficult to find out. Lets hope their competitors are in the same boat!
On the chart I see that there was a previous spike which was not maintained. From my very limited knowledge of this company I would expect to see a sustained rise from now rather than a spike - would you agree?
I am glad I made the effort to buy these at the beginning of January - already showing a good profit. My broker wouldn't trade them but after I had filled in all the forms with III and waited a few days I was able to buy.
Geldman - you quote a profit forecast of $4m which is an eps of 8.8 cents or 6.3p, which seems right, but I can't find that announcement - can you point me to it?
SPSY in its announcement yesterday was able to upgrade the 2018 profit forecast from $3.4m to $4m and forecast revenues from a licensing transaction of $11.2 m for the next 5 years. How many companies are able to upgrade their profit forecasts on 15January. This is combined with a yield of 4.9%. The fair value price has been upgraded to 130p from 115p
SPSY's share price is up from 25p in April to 82p today. The company was runner up in the AIM Overseas Company of the year 2017 Awards because of the dramatically increased profitability, partly due to an acquisition in 2016 which produces materials with excellent net margins and secondly due to the expansion of activities away from the annuity type income derived from supplying covert materials for use in banknotes into protecting FCMG. The potential opportunity in the Chinese tobacco market and the recent entry into the coffee cup market in the USA could well revolutionise profitability in the next 3 years. SPSY is almost unique on AIM paying a dividend of USD$5c for last year and forecasting the same dividend for a further 2 years.
USA company which listed on AIM 6 years ago @ 75p... 5.13% spread.
I read it dropped to 17p during last year but now back above float price.
Pays a div .. W8-ben required to avoid higher tax.
WH Ireland interested broker had a conservative target of 60p.... 3rd April this year.
Over on LSE ... Thehierarchy put up a good link to Newspaper Cambridge news on 3rd April.
( maybe a connection to WH Ireland ..lol )
I see Marksman posted he bought it last week .. £ 500 !! he lost 14% he claims which would be £ 85 with his HL charge.
