Notes to Editors The Company has decided to seek a change of name to more accurately reflect the changed nature of its mainstream business. Over the last few years the Company has increasingly moved its focus towards the "retirement homes" market. Due to overwhelming demographic pressure and driven by government policy there is an increasing need for the provision of suitable housing for the growing number of elderly people in the UK who wish to continue to live in their own homes. The Company is now moving into the Extra Care retirement sector, an offering which sits between older style retirement housing and full residential and care homes, which are typically very expensive. This enables people to benefit from enhanced security and the opportunity to avail themselves of increasing levels of domiciliary and healthcare services. The Company has moved towards providing these services for its new retirement housing schemes, which are called Extra Care Schemes. The Company therefore proposes to change its name to Wren Extra Care Group Plc. This information is provided by RNS The company news service from the London Stock Exchange END

RNS Number : 9027B Wren Homes Group PLC 04 November 2009 FOR RELEASE 07:00 4 November 2009 WREN HOMES GROUP PLC (AIM: WHG) ("Wren" or "the Group") Wren Homes Group Plc, the AIM listed provider of retirement living, through a range of Extra Care and other services for the independent elderly "Extra Care" Planning Consent Wren Homes Group Plc, the AIM listed provider of retirement living, through a range of Extra Care and other services for the independent elderly, announces today that detailed planning permission for another of its 'Extra Care' housing schemes has been granted for the development of 50, one and two bedroom units in Wallington, Surrey. This brings the total number of "ExtraCare" and retirement units (with planning consent) that Wren is interested in to 177 units, including the Wallington, Surrey site. Under Wren's option agreement, once planning permission has been received, Wren is free to exercise its right to buy outright the Wallington site. The Group also has a further 240 units at various stages in the planning system at sites in Hertfordshire and Surrey. Wren's continued move into this second generation of retirement living, "Extra Care", is a step closer to the provision of a wider range of services to support the independent elderly, so that they may continue to live comfortably and secure "at home; not in a home". The Group continues to receive customer enquiries as far as both its retirement and "ExtraCare" schemes are concerned and its first site in Warlingham is now almost fully sold. Commenting, Paul Treadaway, CEO of Wren Homes said: "I am delighted that Wren has been granted planning consent for this additional 'Extra Care' scheme in Wallington and it maintains our 100 per cent success rate in securing planning consent for our 'ExtraCare' retirement model. Our continued growth into this next generation of housing for the 'active' elderly is exciting as it is into a sector that is significantly underdeveloped, yet is addressing an issue pertinent to a great many families across the country - how to safely, securely and comfortably house retired and elderly relatives. It is an issue that is not going to diminish and I look forward to Wren's successful contribution to its solution over the coming years".

WREN HOMES GROUP PLC (AIM: WHG) ("Wren" or "the Group") Wren Homes Group Plc, the AIM listed provider of retirement living, through a range of Extra Care and other services for the independent elderly Proposed change of name to Wren Extra Care Group Plc Adoption of New Articles of Association and Notice of General Meeting Wren Homes Group Plc, the AIM listed provider of retirement living, through a range of Extra Care and other services for the independent elderly, has today sent a circular to shareholders in order to seek Shareholder approval to change the name of the Company to 'Wren Extra Care Group Plc' and also to adopt new articles of association compliant with the Companies Act 2006. A General Meeting has been convened for 10.30 am on 17 November 2009 at Oaks House, 12/22 West Street, Epsom. Surrey, KT18 7RG to seek Shareholder approval for each of these proposals. Proposed change of name The Company has decided to seek a change of name to more accurately reflect the changed nature of its mainstream business. Subject to the relevant resolution being passed, the name of the Company will be changed at Companies House on 17 November 2009 and the Company's Ordinary Shares will trade under the new name with effect from 18 November 2009. No new share certificates will be issued in respect of the existing Ordinary Shares held in certificated form. Shareholders should retain their existing share certificates which will continue to be valid. Proposed new articles of association The existing articles of association were adopted in 2006. Since then there have been a number of changes to company law as a result of the ongoing implementation of the Companies Act 2006. These changes required numerous changes to the existing articles of association to bring them up to date. Rather than propose a resolution to approve all the required amendments, the Board has been advised that it is easier to adopt a new set of articles of association which reflect the latest provisions of the Companies Act 2006. The Circular contains a schedule which explains the provisions in the new articles of association which differ from the existing articles of association.
