Its one of those clear cases where the company was listed by the founder (at £10m) at a time when he expected that the presence on the market would result in a premium valuation and better chances to make a trade sale once the company was successful.

What followed could not have been predicted. The collapse of our financial systems, the destruction of AIM as a viable marketplace and huge media and regulator attack on the IVA industry.

They have responded by evolving quickly and are now in a position where they are about to reap what they have sown. In light of the fact that AIM does not serve as a viable market, the founder has seen the benefit in buying his company back at a massive bargain. I don't blame him but his ability to do this unchallenged does show how little protection shareholders have on AIM when the founder still owns the majority stake.

What he will do now is build his soon to be profitable business as a private affair. In the future we can hope for either a return to the market at a more favourable time or a private trade sale.

I intend to stay as an investor in the private company, not by choice, but by virtue of the fact I have little to lose at the current price.
