WASHINGTON (Thomson Financial) - The Pentagon notified has Congress of a possible sale to Egypt of two E-2C airborne early warning and command aircraft.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency valued the sale at 75 mln usd, and said the sale would ensure "enhanced fleet communications and interoperability."

"The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region," it said in a statement.

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp in Bethpage, New York would be the prime contractor, it said. tf.TFN-Europe_newsdesk@thomson.com afp/slj
