Bristol-Myers, Osuka get FDA ok for Abilify as add-on depression treatment

NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. Tuesday said it and partner Osuka Pharmaceutical Co. have received approval of a supplemental new drug application for the use of Abilify as an add-on treatment for depression from the Food and Drug Adminstration.

The company said Abilify is the first medication to receive FDA approval as an adjunct treatment for adults with major depressive disorder.

Shares of Bristol-Myers rose 1.5% to $28.44 in late morning trades. Michael Baron mb
