LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Oxonica Plc. said its unit Oxonica Energy Ltd. has been granted permission by the UK High Court to appeal against an earlier judgement on a licence and patent dispute with Neuftec Ltd.

On Sept 5, Oxonica said the High Court had ruled that royalties were payable to Neuftec Ltd. on Oxonica's Envirox fuel-borne catalyst under a licence agreement when it was in force.

The international nanomaterials group said costs were awarded to Neuftec and Neuftec applied for an interim payment of 54,000 pounds, which was refused by the Court.

All monies payable to Neuftec have been ordered to be paid into a joint bank account in the names of both parties' solicitors pending the outcome of the appeal. Oxonica Energy will pay the royalty component of about 400,000 pounds into the joint account within the next seven days, the group added. TFN.newsdesk@thomson.com npr/jlw
