MILAN, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Credito Emiliano SpA has agreed to securitise a portfolio of performing residential mortgages worth a total of 922 million euros ($1.19 billion).
The aim of the securitisation operation is to diversify funding sources and create extra liquidity for the bank, Credem said in a statement on Thursday.
Credem said it would use the mortgage-backed securities mainly in refinancing operations with the European Central Bank.
The securitisation will have no effect on the bank's consolidated assets or interest margins, Credem said.
