MADRID, July 28 (Reuters) - Spanish telecommunications provider Jazztel Plc said on Tuesday second-quarter core earnings had risen thanks to its growing customer base, which it previously said had already reached its 2009 target.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) totalled 7.2 million euros ($10.3 million) in the second quarter, up from 300,000 a year earlier, as sales grew 29 percent to 106.6 million.
The landline and broadband supplier's own targets were for second-quarter EBITDA of between 7 and 8 million euros and sales of 106 to 108 million.
The company said on July 6 its customer numbers had risen to 476,841 from 429,641 at the end of March and 315,349 a year earlier.
