Nucryst Pharma's antimicrobial barrier dressing gets FDA nod

July 29 (Reuters) - Shares of Nucryst Pharmaceuticals Corp rose as much as 79 percent after the company said its antimicrobial barrier dressing, Acticoat Flex, received marketing clearance from U.S. health regulators.
Nucryst is the manufacturer of all Acticoat products for Smith & Nephew. The company had already launched Acticoat in Canada in 2008.
Shares of Nucryst were up 48 percent at 71 cents in afternoon trade on Nasdaq. They had touched a high of 86 cents earlier in the session.
