UPDATE 1-Resources Connection posts Q1 loss

    Oct 1 (Reuters) - Temporary-staffing company Resources Connection Inc reported a first-quarter loss, mainly hurt by a 51 percent drop in international revenue, sending its shares down 2 percent.
    For the first quarter, the company reported a loss of $7.2 million, or 16 cents a share, compared with earnings of $12.5 million, or 27 cents a share, a year ago.
    Revenue fell 43 percent to $118.3 million.
    Analysts on average were expecting a loss of 4 cents a share, before items, on revenue of $119.8 million, according to Reuters Estimates.
    Shares of the company were down 40 cents in after-hours trade. They closed at $16.90 Thursday on Nasdaq.
