Article layout: raw

LONDON, Oct 16 (Reuters) - Alphameric Plc, which supplies electronic terminals to betting markets and is the subject of a takeover approach, said on Friday it was trading in line with management expectations.
Alphameric, which supplies screens and software to bookmakers in Britain and Ireland, said it had 20.8 million pounds ($33.8 million) cash at end-September, up from 18.0 million a year ago.
It said the Alphameric Solutions business should trade profitably for the year despite current difficult market conditions.
Alphameric, whose clients include Ladbrokes and William Hill, said it would update shareholders in due course on a third party offer of interest made in August but said there was no certainty of an offer being made.
