UPDATE 1-Beckman Coulter posts lower net on acquisition charges

CHICAGO, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Beckman Coulter, a maker of biomedical testing instrument systems, reported lower quarterly net earnings on Thursday because of its acquisition of Olympus.
Third-quarter earnings were $1.5 million, or 2 cents per share, in the third quarter, compared with $24.1 million, or 37 cents per share, in the year-ago period.
Adjusted earnings per share were 85 cents. That was a penny above analysts' average forecast of 84 cents per share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Revenue rose to $822.8 million in the quarter from $758.8 million a year earlier.
