Nov 8 (Reuters) - Israel's foreign currency reserves rose by $1.233 billion to $61.196 billion in October, the Bank of Israel said on Sunday. The central bank said in a statement it bought $1.274 billion on the market and there was also a revaluation of the reserves plus income totalling $339 million. Private sector transactions added another $22 million to the reserves. They were reduced by $402 million due to government transfers abroad.
The Bank of Israel in August halted a more than one-year
programme of buying $100 million a day in foreign currency,
although it said it would intervene on days of "unusual
movements" in the market.
