OCT JOBLESS RATE DIPS TO 12.40 PCT

Slovakia's unemployment rate unexpectedly edged down to 12.40 percent in October compared with 12.45 percent in September, the National Labour Office said on Thursday.

OECD SEES SLIGHTLY FASTER E.EUROPE RECOVERY

The crisis-bitten economies of central and eastern Europe will mostly see a faster growth next year than previously expected but the recovery will still be moderate, the OECD said in its semi-annual outlook on Thursday. ======================= PRESS DIGEST =========================

FLAT PRICES DECLINE BY 14.3 PCT Y/Y

Prices of residential properties in Slovakia continued to fall in the third quarter, declining by 14.3 percent on the year compared with a 13.4 percent drop in the previous quarter. Easing trend was expected to continue in the coming months.

WIZZ AIR SAYS WILL LEAVE SLOVAKIA

Hungary-based low-cost airline Wizz Air said failed to reach an agreement with Bratislava airport on its Slovak operations, adding it will leave Slovakia next January. Wizz Air planned to operate 17 destinations from Bratislava.
