TAIPEI, Nov 23 (Reuters) - Here are news stories and press reports that may affect the Taiwan stock market on Monday. Major firms such as TSMC could climb after the island's top planner said he expects economic growth of about 4 percent in 2010.

LOCAL PRESS REPORTS -- The Kimpo Group, which counts contract PC maker Compal as a unit, will sign an agreement with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Tuesday to jointly develop a 3G cellular network based on China's TD-SCDMA standard, the Economic Daily reported. -- Taiwan's Premier Wu Den-yih will support the economics ministry in its push to restructure Taiwan's DRAM chip sector, since working with Japan's Elpida is the only way for the island's firms to compete with bigger rivals, the Economic Daily reported. -- Chinese investors will not be allowed to take holdings above 10 percent in companies involved in the financial, telecoms and airline sectors, the Commercial Times reported. ----------------------MARKET SNAPSHOT @ 0007 GMT ------------ INSTRUMENT LAST PCT CHG NET CHG
