    Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is interested in funding the development of a 2,000 megawatts steam-fired power plant in Indramayu which requires an investment of about $2 billion, said Bambang Praptono, director for planning and technology in state electricity firm PT PLN.   • PLN TO TENDER THREE NEW PROJECTS

    State electricity producer PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara said it would soon open the bidding for three new electricity industry projects to be financed by export credits. (Jakarta Post)

  • STEEL INDUSTRY SALES LOSSES MAY REACH $256 MLN

    The steel pipe industry may suffer losses of up to $256 million by the end of this year as its total sales may plunge by 40 percent from last year, the Indonesia Iron and Steel Industry Association said. (Jakarta Post)

  • DOMESTIC INVESTMENT DOUBLES AS CONFIDENCE CLIMBS

    The value of domestic investment doubled this year to 32.47 trillion rupiah ($3.44 billion) from 15.88 trillion in the same period in 2008, said Gita Wirjawan, the head of Investment Coordinating Board. (Jakarta Post)
