Investment bank FBR Capital Markets Corp appointed David Abraham and Blake Hill as directors, Institutional Sales, and Alfredo Mujica and Daniel Tully as directors, Equity Sales & Trading at it's European Institutional brokerage. It is a unit of its London-based subsidiary Friedman, Billings, Ramsey International, Ltd (FBRIL).

The securities and investment banking group appointed David Owen as managing director and chief European financial economist within the firm's fixed income group.

Investment analysis and market index company MSCI Inc appointed Anand Iyer as managing director, head of Multi-Asset Class Research.

United Kingdom-based investment trust Baring Emerging Europe PLC appointed Steven Bates as chairman, replacing Iain Saunders, who will retire on Jan. 19, 2010.

Institutional financial services firm Pritchard Capital Partners LLC appointed Brian Kerrigan as senior vice president, Investment Banking, and Jeff Spittel as research analyst.

Throgmorton UK Ltd appointed board member Andrew Rubio as chief executive following the announcement that founder shareholder Ian Pellow is leaving.
