EUROBANK Q3 NET BEATS CONSENSUS


EFG Eurobank, Greece's second-largest lender, on Tuesday reported a healthy rise in third quarter profit compared to the previous three months, beating consensus as the rate of increase in bad loans slowed.

GREECE NAMES ZERVOS TO HEAD PUBLIC POWER CORP


Greece on Tuesday named renewable energy expert Arthouros Zervos to head state-controlled Public Power Corp (PPC) , the country's biggest electricity provider.
Zervos was quoted as saying to financial daily To Vima that PPC would focus on renewable energy sources.

GREEK BANKS BORROWED ABOUT 40 BLN EUR FROM ECB-CENBANKER


Greek banks have borrowed about 40 billion euros so far this year from the European Central Bank, Greece's central banker said on Tuesday.


GREEK GDP TO SHRINK BY UP TO 1.5 PCT IN 2009
Greece's economy will contract by up to 1.5 percent this year, the country's central bank chief said on Tuesday, revising downwards a previous estimate.

TITAN CEMENT Q3 NET SEEN DOWN 27 PCT


Titan, Greece's biggest cement producer, is expected to post a 27 percent drop in third quarter net profit on Wednesday, hurt by weak construction activity at home and in the U.S., according to a Reuters poll of analysts. The company will report results after the end of trading.

RETAILER FOURLIS 9-MONTH PROFIT DOWN 32 PCT


Fourlis, the Greek franchisee of flat-pack furniture maker IKEA, said on Tueday nine-month net profit dropped 32 percent on lower demand for its home goods.


VIVARTIA 9M NET UP 8.4 PCT Y/Y
Food group Vivartia reported a 8.4 percent rise in nine-month net profit to 6.26 million euros year-on-year, on sales of 1.09 billion euros, up 5.4 percent compared to last year, financial daily Imerisia reported.

EMPORIKI ISSUES THREE-YEAR 500 MILLION EURO FRN


Emporiki Bank, a subsidiary of Credit Agricole , said on Tuesday its Emporiki Finance unit issued a three-year 500 million euro floating-rate note to foreign institutional investors.


EUROPEAN SHARES SET TO OPEN HIGHER, DATA EYED
European shares are expected to rise on Wednesday after closing lower in the previous session, with positive Asian stocks and the Federal Reserve raising its expectations for U.S. growth in 2010 seen helping equities.
