DUBLIN, Nov 26 (Reuters) - Shares in Allied Irish Banks dropped more than 9 percent on Thursday, as worries about British banks' exposure to debt problems in Dubai were weighing on markets.
"Markets are weaker today on the back of the news in Dubai. There's a bit of nervousness on the markets", a Dublin-based trader said.
AIB shares were down 7 percent to 1.6 euros at 1033 GMT, as the broader Irish market index fell 1.95 percent.
