Full Year Results?

A few positives

A few positives:

1)	Prior to the first repurchase on 30/03/2010 there were 76,934,620 shares in existence. After the latest repurchase on 07/06/2011 there are currently 70,253,494 shares. That means that the number of shares has shrunk by approximately 9% over the last 14 months. This is a significant factor and bodes well for future eps figures.

2)	The directors hold a 35% stake in the company, so their interests are clearly in line with shareholders.

3)	The threat of litigation now appears to have ended.

4)	The latest accounts showed a satisfactory year in difficult circumstances.

5)	The shares yield around 9%.

On a negative point, I do think the company could improve on the communication front. The odd trading update between the interims and finals would not go amiss.

We've all been waiting years for this case to end but does anyone understand how significant it is? As I don't know how major it is, I'm guessing its big to a certain extent otherwise it wouldn't really be mentioned but has anyone heard about any informationn from the company about it?
Would it make a major difference to the company or is it just one of them silly court cases that occur because someone is unhappy with a tiny detail? By rlindsey2

Legal Claim Dismissed

Per today's rns the Colorado court has again dismissed the claim against ACMH and, this time, ARGO. Whilst the claimants still have 30 days in which to lodge am amended claim, I think the risk/reward has swung massively in favour of ARGO. Given the current yield of almost 10%, I have increased my holding in this company. By one derer

bought back in

Having bought and sold last year, i've been buying in again this week. I suspect the co. will continue to buy back its own shares, so no harm in holding some now to sell back to them later. Especially while they have such a strong balance sheet, and i can pick up a nice dividend if nothing happens for a while. By davydoo

Re: Good investment

Extract from half-yearly report:

"In addition the directors authorised the repurchase of 750,000 shares on 6 April 2010 and 1,518,126 shares on 3 June 2010 at respective purchase prices of US$0.20 and US$0.18 per share."

These are fairly significant purchases as the shares in issue now total 74,663,494. The yield on these is roughly 8%, based on last years 1 pence dividend, so worth holding for the income. However, on the downside, there is the Colorado litigation and the fact that the company do not exactly bombard us with information, trading updates and the like.

I am in from my disastrous investment in ACMH and received a number of these free when Argo split. Have since quintupled my holding but never expect to have more than a modest stake in this entity. By one derer

Good investment

I have slowly been buying over the last couple of months into this share as I believe it is well undervalued for one, is starting to produce a high divided and also is buying back its own stock.
Now they said they might spend $2 million buying back there share, am i correct in saying that? well if i am, i believe i read that in a RNS then they have only bought back around a quarter of that amount so far which is always good as it makes everyone richer without us having to pay a penny.
Hope i get some views of any of you that are invested here, as i no its a quite board so might just be talking to myself By rlindsey2

Good set of results

Key take aways:

- little erosion of FUM and revenue in a challenging environment
- ARgo managed to stay profitable delivering around 700k pounds in net profit which is a good performance as investment income from its argo fund holdings was nil.
-That puts the group on an annualized PE of 6.7X
- The group remains cash holding more cash han its market cap with 25.8M USD of cash and investmentsin its funds. That is equivalent to 22p per share.

Just have one thing to say : buy as the share price is nearly half the amount of cash held by the company. The company has been repurchasing progressively some shares which has increased the NAV. By goldenarrow1

Re: Litigation news your thoughts

I think the company have begun the share buy-back, so we should see confirmation of this over the next day or so. Having read the latest RNS, I am still not sure whether ARGO still have any potential liability, and given that the SP has not risen, I can only assume that they have.
I am quite happy to retain a small investment, but would be very wary of committing any more. By Optimist13
