In addition there were no institutional presentations in March.

Re: Sold on small loss

Hi polarity

I have been beefing up my BHR (Beacon Hill Resources) after meeting the CEO. Who knows where all the shares are heading, but I have averaged down on several other positions this week. Kept the portfolio narrower. My departure was to stay off oil completely and I agree with you that Circle Oil has got future promise. I could see where brokers do get their high targets.i would not worry with the latest drop.

Certainly got pounded in all my long hold positions today but staying cool. My loss here was £41. My BPC gain was several hundred. You win some and lose some.

It could be a long summer for equities and many of us may go to the horse races and golf and not try to trade out of trouble. If one pulls out it is easy to miss the swing up again later. I am more an investor than any kind of trader. i think it will be wonderful by the autumn.

Re: Sold on small loss

I would say this was a bad time to get out. But if its a small loss and your confidence is shot then its understandable. I myself see now as a good time to get in (or remain in). Just before an historic egyptian election is due. Its all about timing and whether you believe the outcome will be moderate or extreme. I am not expecting extreme as in Iran style. But more a situation like Pakistan may emerge. Which is not bad or good, just messed up between militant and religious attitudes.

It has been a revolution after all but thankfully, has not turned into a Libya or Syria.

COP should emerge unscathed. And if you believe Fox-Davies valuations, should triple in the long term.

Doesn't look like a short term solution there DWC. Think I might trim my holding further. But what I don't understand is why we're increasing production if we're not getting paid. So maybe we are getting paid enough to keep producing, and the option of cutting back production might just send the Egyptians off on a privatisation tangent like crazy Christina. I dunno, and if i dunno then I should be even more cautious. By Lupo di mare

Re-Egypt Fox Davy article

Not sure if my maths are correct.

From Egypt on the March figure of just over 8000 barrels a day the company would have a turnover of nearly 120M. I am not sure of their overheads but profit was 25% of revenue turnover roughly. If it was the same this year the profit would be an additional £20M on the £12M at least they had from Morrocco and any other income source. It would therefore be a future annual earnings of 5.68p per share during 2012. It therefore gives a forward earnings PE of 4.1 for 2012. So if the same PE as in 2011 were awarded it would give a target price of 69p for this share. Assume it was knocked down to 7 times PE with wider macro effects would give 39.6 p target. For it to remain at this price the hedge downwards on the oil price is probably $80 a barrel plus 10% higher pull out costs and keeping future PE at 7 or below.

My maths may be wrong and it will be interesting to see the annual accounts. Somehow I do not see oil going down that much and the market PE should improve eventually.

The 19p bottom price equates to all the Morrocco income and nothing from Egypt from what I could make out. This is a practically rock bottom buy price between 19-23p. With better market sentiment and stable oil price this should reach 38-39p at some point as growth in production is practically 80% from what I could make out.

Please correct me if anything above is wrong.
