I fully agree we will be saddled with iou,s for years to come
and i now think Gordon Brown should now sell the Euro.s he
bought at 1.50+ when he sold stacks of our gold reserve.

He could then loan the money to cattles at 6% we could then
relist and sit back and watch the shares reach £1 just before
we all press the sell button.
Don't be fooled by dave(tony mkII) cameron. Gordon might not be perfect but he is at least a man of substance I agree that there will be an IOU however it will be all the larger due to the politicians. Cheap political points will lead to the early sale of the bank stakes the govt has taken. If hmg were to hang onto the assets for a few years they could make a killing but Dave will force the issue to score political points and WE will all be the poorer for the posturing. After all you never met a poor banker.

Also if gordon hadnt acted you might have seen your bank go through and its difficult to run a business with a frozen bank account.
The July 5 bond payment was the first of two deadlines faced this month by the company. It has been in talks with a syndicate of 22 banks, led by Royal Bank of Scotland, to refinance £500m of wholesale funding by July 14. By idontwanttolose

Re: cattles

hey liz

business is booming, dont ask me why, theres a recession on, but it seems to be effecting people in different ways. its definatley not a recession we have seen before, and its not following the usual pattern

in the past recessions, everyones effected, everyone tightens their belts and stops spending. i tried to get a plumber to do a small job last week, phoned loads in the end............they are all booked up?, had to get a appointment for next week, read a story in the paper that someone tried to book a restraunt in durham, all full, no bookings available

then on the other hand, you hear of sensible working people who have not been able to find a job for a year. folks hit hard, and christmas cancelled.

companys going down the pan that you would not have expected to, and companys that are surviving that you expected to fail

and theres no north/south divide this time.

let hope it goes back to normality soon for everyone, i just get a bad feeling that we will all have to pay something in a few years time!, we have all been given a i.o.u, without our consent imho.............cheers gordon

rant over!
feel better now

cattles

hi folks

been busy, and have'nt had time to post for a few days, i still believe in my earlier post for the timetable for relisting (and imho, it WILL relist). end of the year is still favourable, banks have extented to the end of the year, and i would imagine bondholders will also like to see the commitment extended or d4e agreed prior to them doing the standstill. whats the point of them signing the standstill for 6 months when they know the banks can pull the plug in december if they wished to.

a sensible d4e agreement to wipe out some of the debt, and a refinanced package with the banks to enable welcome to re-start lending, would not only see the share re-listed, but could produce a good sentiment for the sp to move north from the suspended sp value, this will all depend of course on the level of dillution, but if the cattle board can negotiate sensible, then we shareholders will have a future.

santa and co's purchase of shares at the prices quoted could be a shrewd move, only time will tell.

even the most negative poster on here, has to have some level of doubt about thier conclusion now, with all that has happened in the past 6 months or so.

as ever, i am more then confident that this company will return me good profit in the near future. and this debacle will be looked back as a distant memory in a years time.

hold your nerve (and anything else you want) we are fast approaching a conclusion..............one way or another

john

ps. makeawill4u. even if you do sell your stake, you must remain contributing to this bb for as long as you possibley can..........please! By jr50

Re: CVA -an alternative solution?

It would appear to me that many companies are now turning to shareholders with cash calls to reduce bank borrowings.

The banks seem happy about this, because it is reducing their own risks.

To this extent, shareholders - though cash calls - are becoming the "new bankers".

If this is the case, and if CTT is to have a future, the banks would have to think log and hard about wiping out shareholders.

They may ultimately have to rely on shareholders to reduce their own exposure.

Interesting. By knellerwoman

CVA -an alternative solution?

Assuming that the impaired debts of Goodbye impact on Cattles to the extent that it's debt to cattles cannot be repaid in full now;
and assuming that all the impaired debts are not wholly irrecoverable in due course of time;
it might be possible for there to be scheme of creditors voluntary arrangement (CVA) whereby the creditors agree to take instalments over time which will give them X% of their debt-say 50%-and allow cattles to continue to trade as a leaner more efficient (and truthful) operation then at the end of the day there might be something for shareholders.

The key to any proposition is some credible information from the company.

Sadly this appears to be missing.

Santa,

While I admire your enthusiasm for CTT, and your desire to buy shares off plan, I think you would be better waiting.

If this relists, how do you think it will go?

What price will it be re-listed at. 6.88p or 1p?

If it relists, the balance sheet is not going to look like the Mona Lisa.

This might mean the SP would tank.

However, the relief that CTT has a future, might provoke a spike.
