Back from the dead

OK - so good news?

Debt almost wiped out through disposal of a now non core asset (albeit a profitable one). With a market cap at £5m (at 10p) and little debt this looks hugely undervalued...

I think I am right in saying that they have now dealt with all their problematic divisions through acquisition or the natural process of closing out contracts.

Price has drifted lower since my last positing - so up 40% today - but needs to keep going..

Re: What's the story

I have been an investor in this stock in the past and it has been for me a very profitable investment. This is before the economic downturn of 2008 and onwards. I like you, am looking to take a position but slightly concerned at the debt level. By muscati

What's the story

Does anyone else share my view that this is hugely undervalued now?

The loss making contracts and operations have been divested or run their course and the software side looks strong. Debt is high but the market cap is at rock bottom, and this has been drifting for months.

I have recently bought a few tranches at 11, 10 and 9p on the basis that this has good turnaround potential - anyone care to agree or disagree... By JimmyZoid

Trading Update

As expected life remains very tough for Eleco on the building products side. It is obviously a concern that there appears to be a cash outflow of about £3.9 million in the first half before the receipt of £3.9 million from the sale of the German business. No doubt there will be a further cash outflow in the second half despite the reduction in overhead costs. They are now looking to sell surplus freehold properties and I suspect they are also beginning to think about selling the software business.

Unfortunately I can't see much improvement in prospect for the building products side given the markets it serves. The management will valiantly try and staunch the losses and sell off surplus assets until an eventual recovery comes but that pension deficit will remain a huge burden for the Company.

Still far too early to think about buying this one but maybe when the shareprice is down to single figures it could be worth a flutter. By Meanbugger

Poor results

Judging by the results today you can see why the FD has resigned. It's difficult to see where the value lies with this one especially as there is a pension deficit on top of difficult trading. The concrete products are obviously top quality but that isn't much help when construction customers are going for the cheapest option. I've followed this one for ages but it's still not worth buying IMO. By Meanbugger
