Re: AGM Statement

Forbidden Technologies* (FBT) climbed 3.5p to 26p upon a bullish AGM statement from the video editing software group's chairman Vic Steel. Steel commented that the company 'continued to make good progress' in its strategy to develop a sustainable and scalable business for the long term. The post production division has seen year-on-year revenue growth of 60% in the first three months of 2012, benefiting from regular repeat business from existing customers as well as the 16 new post house clients added within the last year. In addition, with Forbidden's web video partner BIM agreeing to add further television stations to its user base, and the successful release of Clesh, a consumer friendly version of its video editing software, Steel is confident that group can grow faster in 2012 than it did last year, when sales rose 29%.
How can this have a market cap of £28 million with a turnover less than a chip shop? At least the chip shop makes a decent profit.

Dire results once again - turnover of a chip shop

Very poor results once again. No wonder they are on a downwards trend. Pathetic turnover for a company that has been in business as long as FBT. Net losses up by 50%. Not much sign of anything changing. Lots always spent on R&D but difficult to find anyone who wants the final product. It still looks like a company run as someone's hobby.
Forbidden and the Olympics

Some research: -

8th Sept 2011 - Forbidden Technologies and EVS collaboration

http://www.forbidden.co.uk/news/rns/aimrule26_20110908/

17 Feb 2012 - see EVS partnership diagram in this video, about 25% through video.

http://clesh.com/videos/view/BVE2012-1329482085.pud/

So Forbidden are still actively working with EVS.

Now for the important bit.

28 Nov 2011- EVS wins London Olympics contract

http://broadcastengineering.com/products/evs-london-olympics-contract/

and from the above link, this is the bit that could be Forbiddens input into the contact.

"The centrally-located broadcast centre will have the new generation media server, an online archive and media sharing solution, enabling host broadcaster production teams as well as broadcast right holders to access broadcast feeds and complementary camera feeds coming from the different venues in addition to dedicated highlight packages and clips."

If the above turns out to be reality, it does sound like Forbiddens solution, then also remember this deal:

12th Dec 2011 - Forbidden licenses FORscene to YouTube

http://www.forbidden.co.uk/news/rns/aimrule26_20111212/

So lots of BIG business from a small company, with a market cap at around £30m

DYOR, IMHO

Maybe a deal on the way

Maybe a conference over on west coast USA, but they would name the conference if that was the case. So it must be a visit to a company, maybe deal making, signatures required etc.

The YouTube RNS suggests that the YouTube deal had been finalised. So I think this could be something unconnected.

Technicolor, maybe.

Would be nice if one of these companies took some of our shares, that really would put a rocket under the SP. Remember I believe Stephen has said he was willing to sell some of his stock, maybe this could be that moment, a deal with a multi-billion $ company.

Certainly not impacting on SP just now. If the buys come in when USA awakes, then that could be a clue. By Hyper Al
