"Gold Oil, an exploration group focused on Latin America, is seeking partners to help fund the development of what could be a large oil discovery off the coast of Peru. The Aim-listed company has started discussions with sovereign wealth funds based in the Middle East about taking an interest in Block Z34, which lies west of four of the largest developed oil fields in northern Peru. These fields have already produced a total of 1.6bn barrels of oil. Gold Oil has analysed seismic data and identified six drilling leads it believes could have significant commercial potential, the FT reports." By mattspost

Re: Oh yes, Rosa Blanca.

nlmbidc - I think the safest thing is to discount RB and treat it as a welcome bonus if anything does materialise.
I too once thought that RB was a pretty safe bet until I read about the grief that the Middle Magdalena Basin has caused to nearly everyone who has tried to exploit it. The reports I've read come from a Canadian guy with impecable credentials who whilst generally very pro Colombia, is hellbent on avoiding the MMB. I have no reason to doubt his integrity.
PS - I bought a few GOO's back in the opening trading. By dragonsbreaths

Re: coolboy: positive news but expensive

They might not have money but they do have valuable assets in the form of licenses, exploratory data etc. We all understand the risks and the potential rewards of investing in companies like GOO and not to trust anyone that posts on this or any site. Unintentional ramping driven by optimism I can understand. IMHO de-ramping (or damping) doesn't make sense as such a person (realist or pessimist) would sell up and go elsewhere unless they were shorting or hoping to buy in at a lower price.
Still a Strong Buy IMHO but DYOR. By Aittch

Re: coolboy: positive news but expensive

avatrol,
with respect coolboy has posted concerns but backed them up with reason. his posts recently have been realistic as opposed to pesimistic. i would sooner read a balanced post about the problems goo may face rather than a stream of posts telling me about the current sp.
we get an odd rns stating they want to develop azar as soon as possible, the results were particularly vague and we're a couple million quid down.
it's not unusual for small companies to find partners but all this spells out one thing-we've got no money.

Re: coolboy: positive news but expensive

avatrol... why is the SP 4p and not 44p...? GOO are dangerous low on money and "money makes the world go around" and also recent track record has really hurt their creditability as an Oil Explorer... so as coolboy said its best to be a "tad cautious" here.

If GOO (in 6-12mths time) have to off load licenses, sell their share in producing oil fields etc... etc .. to keep money in the bank to survive long enough to have an interest in Z34...what do you think will happen to the SP in the meantime ?

For GOO sake (and my sake and all the PIs here) I hope the 3mil last a while .. and we get a "Sugar daddy" for Z34.

all IMHO tee hee
