Re: new 10 year contract starts russia business

Yes would agree with you. There is still the danger of a very long recession in most of the Eurozone and that would be bad, but Interbulk does not rely exclusively on this area so I think it would survive even if this happened. The apparently reviving economy in the US, aided by the much lower natural gas prices there, should help the world economy as a whole and be good for trade which will of course help Interbulk.
new 10 year contract starts russia business

i read the RNS as excellent news....
one of russia's biggest logistical players outsources for the first time
and also happy to sign a 10 year contract
the scale is not hugely material to INB at 1m a year and rising
but it does give more evidence of their technical superiority
and liklihood of reaching a global footprint esp. with the chinese connections...

at 7p i think the shares significantly undervalued (my fair value is 12p)
and this will becoem more evident over a 2-3 year period as the debt is paid off

Re: looking to get in

I share your views on this company. The short term may be difficult in the Euro region as they point out, but this company appears seriously undervalued especially with the Sinotrans investment at 11p. if they keep making profits and get the debt down, this has the potential to significantly improve ones wealth. I am here for the long haul with that hope in mind. Only my opinion. Shame I do not know anyone connected with INB, or with any of my other investments. Good luck with your decision making.
looking to get in

Stumbled across this one whilst researching some other transport / logistics companies. (currently in BTC - no ramp intended) This comany seems an utter gem and well under the radar. Still in early throes of research at the moment but looks like debt is now under control, and with Sinotrans coming on board we should start to see steady progress going forward.

Looks like a lock away and forget for a couple of years share, are there any white elephants i may have missed in the room as usually vary cautious where Chinese investment is concerned?

Any thoughts would be welcomed

Growth Investor

Interbulk HOLD
http://www.growthcompany.co.uk/recommendations/1678348/interbulk.thtml

Chemical transportation specialist Interbulk (INB) has reported a resolute set of results as its niche service continued to hold its ground.

The AIM-quoted concern declared a 3% rise in operating profits to £15.5m on sales of £300.4m (2010: £273m) for the year to September. Pre-tax profits almost tripled from £1.78m to £5.3m as a result of a change in a lower interest rate swap while net debt fell from £109.3m to £83.9m. EPS climbed from 0.67p to 1.12p.

It was a busy year for the group, which held a placing in June with Chinese logistics giant Sinotrans that raised £17.4m via the issue of 165 million shares at 11p a share. Across its divisions both its dry bulk and liquid bulk operations grew sales, by 14% and 7% respectively.

In an interview with Growth Company Investor chairman David Rolph enthused the business was 'taking advantage of the opportunities for long-term growth' adding that it is in both 'Russia and the Middle East' with a 'strong partner' (In the form of Sinotrans) in China. September saw the launch of the the Sinotrans Interbulk Alliance and the group is particularly keen to exploit opportunities in the country.

Analysts at house broker Arbuthnot are forecasting pre-tax profits of £7.2m (EPS: 1.08p) on revenues of £320.3m for the year to September 2012.

A group with a considerable presence in emerging markets, the deal with Sinotrans holds considerable potential for its chances in China. With some moderate growth prospects the shares look fairly valued at the current price. Hold.

Re: Results

6 months from October could be choppy for INB, but looking forward with the debt reduction and the global nature of the business especially for the liquids side I expect 2012 to be strong. They can now begin to pay down debt which was always a mill stone around the companies neck.

This share is too small and doesn't have a profile with investors. Only hope of a move upwards was a takeover. Hoyer missed its chance with Sinotrans as the white knight buying at 11p. I still don't get why the sp isn't closer to 11p.

Only hope now is that one of the big shareholders makes a takeover offer. BUT when? We could be waiting a long time when your cash could be working harder some place else. At least the share price isn't subject to the wild swings of some other sectors.

For me all in all an encouraging set of results that should have moved the sp north by >10%.

Strong Buy from Arbuthnot

INTERBULK GROUP (INB) retained its "STRONG BUY" rating from ARBUTHNOT SECURITIES, with a target price of 11p.

The broker believes that freight company's entry into the Asian market, with its first Chinese contract won in August, worth 1 million dollars (0.63 million pounds) per annum , and Malaysian deal on 26th October worth 2.6 million dollars (1.6 million pounds), demonstrate its growth potential.

On a prospective earnings multiple of 6.6 times, Arbuthnot believes the company remains undervalued.
