Maiden Profit & NAV Increase but..

No increase in value for Therakind, which has received a milestone payment and is now receiving royalties from Viopharma. This cannot be an oversight they seem to be concealing the true value of Therakind, which either means they are working on an exit and do not want to make it public just yet or they are saving it for the year end results. Still does not make sense, MM still taking stock over the bid, makes me feel there is somthing in the wings.

If you read between the line they have sufficient funding up to Q3 2012 and 5 of their 8 investments are ripening and almost ready to take to the market. Are they planning a listing for Therakind since they now have cashflow from royalty payments and have a pipeline of products one of which is at a late stage.

Lots to read between the lines and still trading 50% below current NAV. Expect a bounce.

Re: 27 per cent rise

I.75 Million was purchased on Friday. about 4% of the stock. So whatever the MMs had they must have sold at 2.75p, they are raising the price quickly on small volume so it looks like they do not have many sellers and they are trying to encourage selling by spiking it up. Maybe their borker knows somthing we don't.

Only 38.5M shares in issue of which 57% is held by Investment Funds and Directors and Private Investors. So about 16.5 Million Shares in circultation, not much if retail demad is there it will go up quickly. By OMITC

Re: 27 per cent rise

Results Due tomorrow or Monday, Current NAV is 4.91p but this is expected to go up based on the progress they have made with Therakind over the past year.

Increase to the NAV is anybodys guess but I think based on the fact that Therakind received a big chunk of money on marketing approval and are also due royalty payments on sales of Buccolam from Viopharma. The NAV could be in the region of between 8p to 10p.

Even if the stock goes to 6p fom the current price it will be a 100% gain thats the way I am looking at it.

There is also a pie in the sky possibility that the Directors may be looking to monetise their 36% investment in Therakind by selling it, which considering they only have 38.5M shares in issue could be a substantal rise in share value even if they only got 2 to 3 million pounds for it.

Talk about delayed publication

This transaction starts off in June when there was only approx 18 million shares in issue. RAB dispose of their entire share holding which is just over 4 million and this is purchased by Cedar Assets Group. This is at a time when the directors are about to issue another 19.5 million shares and share price was on the floor around 1.5p.

Cedar then proceeds to sell their stock into the market just after the announcement the Buccolam had been approved for sale in the UK and Europe. So they bought low, held for a few months and then sold as the share price rose as the news broke.
Why it has taken more than 3 months to announce this is unclear? However at the time there was demand for the stock, so Cedar took their opportunity to sell out.

I still feel the BOD are looking to monetise their investments and their 36% shareholding of Therakind represents the best opportunity in the short term.

2 x 750k buys & Expected NAV Increase

There were 2 x 750k buys late on friday, which may be significant considering there are only 38.5 million shares in issue. The current NAV is 4.91p however even if this increases by 1 million pounds it will make the NAV 7.8p almost 200% more than the current share price.

With these latest purchases, somebody must be accumulating in anitcipation of an huge increase in NAV compared to the current share price.

Half Year Result - Next week

This seems to have slowed down due no news flow, however half year results for Oct-2011 are due to be published next week on Friday the 20th of Jan or possibly the Monday the 23rd of Jan at the latest.

Their current NAV from their last results is 4.91p, they have since had success with IPSOL and more importantly Therakind. It will be interesting to see what value they place on these investments now and how they intend to generate cash by realising some of these investment assets within their current portfolio.

Therakind is a private company, which sold its share in a product called Buccolam to Viopharma for an upfornt payment and future payments based on milestones and finally royalties on sales. This product is now being actively marketed and sold in the UK and Europe by Viopharma.

The most interesting part of this transaction is that Viopharma (which turnover $660 million) has acquired a number of smaller drug companies in the past 2 months which focus on orphan drugs (drugs for niche markets/diseases). These companies are:

15-Nov-2011 - DuoCort Pharma AB - Purchased for $164 million (combination of upfront cash and milestone based payments)

22-Dec-2011 - Meritage Pharma, Inc., - Option for $89.9 million (combination of upfront cash and payments if they take up their option to purchase.)

So given that Viopharma are acquiring smaller companies, it is not impossible that they maybe considering acquiring Therakind in the near future, especially when you consider they have a past relationship and have purchased a succesful product that Therakind co-developed with another company called Aurials (which Viopharma also purchased).

Therakind also has a strong pipeline of durgs in development, so Viophama may just decide to purchase them now rather than later when they are more successful/ expensive.

IPSO have a 36% shareholding in Therakind, the directors have recently paid themselves in shares and will be looking to monetise some of their key assets.

Let’s see what the results bring... Very under the radar at the moment.
