Nomura

From ADVFN:

"As opposed to the market share gains achieved by Dixons in the UK Kesa Electricals unveiled a weak fourth quarter trading update, analysts at Nomura write this morning. In particular they highlight the weaker than expected gross margin figures and the weaker than expected pace of growth in LFL sales at its ‘developing businesses.’ On the other hand, LFL sales remained strong at its other established businesses (+6.2%). In their own words, “In our view, the weak 4Q trading shows that the pace of initiatives undertaken by Kesa (including roll-out of the Darty concept, development of multi-channel sales and cost savings) have not been enough to offset the weak macro and competitive pressures.”

The broker has retained its neutral rating on the stock given the sharp price decline, but reduces its target to 62p, which translates to approximately 9 times our fiscal year 2013 earnings per share forecast of 8.2, from 90p."

Microsoft Suing Comet's

Personally think overhyped if i read correct, how can a recovery cd (i.e. of software already installed on a computer) be a fake copy or counterfeit? Making a recovery CD of the original installation is something normal and permitted with MS Windows installs?.

Good opportunity, looking to buy back in after doing a little more research on Comets sold status etc. DYOR.

(Reuters) - Microsoft Corp said it is suing Britain's second-largest electronics dealer Comet Group Plc for allegedly creating and selling "counterfeit" CDs of its flagship Windows operating system.
In a statement on its website, Microsoft said the retailer created more than 94,000 sets of Windows Vista and XP recovery CDs and sold them to customers buying Windows-loaded PCs and laptops.
Comet is owned by French retail conglomerate Kesa Electricals but is in the process of being sold to private equity group OpCapita.
A Kesa spokesman told Reuters that Comet was providing the disks as a service to its customers.
Consumers buying PCs or laptops could create their own recovery CDs but many did not, and faced problems when their computers failed, he said.
The recovery disks used to be provided by Microsoft or the PC maker but they stopped doing that in 2007, the spokesman said.
Comet believes the supply of the recovery CDs was in the best interests of its customers and "has a good sense of its claim and will defend its position vigorously," he said.
Kesa shares were down 5 percent at 68.15 pence at 1153 GMT on the London Stock Exchange on Wednesday.

Fundamentals?

Demand is pretty poor in all areas and probably now also in France as they are getting the message that the gravy train has come to a stop. Longer working week ,increased taxes, reduced pensions and with Euro in trouble.
Poor Comet was smashed because Osborne had started cost savings close on two years ago.
The French are just starting and so a bleak future for them means there is no chance for them to grow revenue or profits.
Year end results are going to be bleak and the divi will probably be the last.
I cannot see a silver lining for large capital expenditure groups.
DXNS will escape as the opposition is no longer there and they have moved the shopping experience on to a new scale. By HOWRAH
